DonnaLee is the Reading/Writing/SS teacher for the night HiSET/GED Program. She worked in the Nuclear Energy industry for 37 years. In 2001, she began working in the educational sector as an ESL tutor to a Brazilian student at the Plymouth Public Library.
In 2006, she began teaching GED at the new night program at the library. She teaches Essay Writing, Reading, English Grammar and Social Studies, which includes U.S. History, World History, Geography, Civics and Government.
DonnaLee understands how difficult and challenging essay writing can be for many students.
She works closely with each student, encouraging them, while building their
confidence, knowledge and writing skills. With weekly practice and diligence, students can write a good essay. It’s rewarding for both the student and the teacher to see how much their writing skills progress over the course of the program. Many students who struggled in the beginning to write one paragraph, improve their skills to write a five paragraph essay, and be prepared for the test. You Can Do It!
DonnaLee has an Associates degree in Business Administration from Fisher College, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Anna Maria College and a Masters of Education from Curry College.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering at Hospice, libraries, assisted living facilities and nursing homes for pet therapy visits with her Maltese, who is a Certified Therapy Dog.
