Jane Kent is the Night Technology Coordinator and Technology Teacher and joined the Literacy Program in the Summer of 2020.
Jane understands what it takes to continue her education as an adult. She completed her Masters in Education for Instructional Technology through Lesley University while raising three children with her husband, teaching full time, and performing in a local theatre group, while her husband continued his education after his service in the United States Coast Guard. Balancing family, work, and learning is a challenge that makes the results worth the experience.
“The students in our program are inspiring. They work so hard to create new opportunities for themselves and their families.”- Jane Kent
During the day, Jane is the technology teacher for the elementary school in Carver, where she runs the newspaper and video production clubs. She has been a teacher for thirty-four years with students from PreK through adults. She holds two certifications for teaching in the State of Massachusetts and a certificate for TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) through Lesley University. She is Google certified in several of their trainer's levels. Jane is a webmaster for Carver Schools as well as a few private businesses.
When not teaching or working with technology, Jane can be found on stage or working behind the scenes with her family at a local theatre. She helps out at a local auction house. She also explores her love of history and family by connecting genealogical research to local and world events. Enjoying a good book, being at the ocean, and spending quiet days with her family are always appreciated.
